Kiln and Cooler Flow Issues
SAVE YOUR REFRACTORY
Pneumat Kiln and Cooler Solutions:
Problem: Ring Build-ups have
developed in certain areas of the kiln.
Pneumat
Solution: Place base sockets at a 35º to 45º angle in these
spots and use Cardox to blast out the
build-ups. Then rotate the kiln to see if all the build-up releases.
If it doesn't, then repeat the same procedure on opposite of the
original base sockets. If there is no way to see where the build-ups
are located, use a temperature sensor gun to find the hot spots
and weld on a base socket there to use a Cardox blast to eliminate
the build-up.
Problem: Shotgun method isn’t
working effectively.
Pneumat
Solution: Using Cardox at the proper tube depth in these
spots won’t take out any refractory or remove any problems.
Using a shotgun at one end of the kiln to shoot ring build-ups makes
them return bigger and more frequently after doing this. The shooting
is actually taking out some refractory around the build-up as well.
So hotspots get bigger, which makes the build-ups larger and more
frequent. If the kiln is really bad about rings choking off flow,
lines of sockets can be placed on the kiln.
Problem: There is a snowman building-up
within the cooler.
Pneumat
Solution: With Pneumat’s Cardox
Prolongation Tube, snowmen can be reached and eliminated with ease.
We can show you how to use this special tool or you can have TeamPneumat
take care of the situation.
